Andy Rubin separates from Google

GOOG recently confirmed that the internet giant has lost one of the most prominent figures in the company. Andy Rubin who was the cofounder and leader of the companies Android division is about to leave the company. Rubin took GOOG’s Android technology to new heights and also was now responsible to lead their robotics division.
The reason behind this departure is that Rubin is now all set to boost startups instead of working directly on technology hardware equipment. On the contrary, Google stated that they are not going to draw away focus from their robotics division and despite any hurdle they come across, they would continue investing in this sector. This division will now be headed by James Kuffner who would be replacing Rubin.
Rubin was an asset to the company and since the time Google had acquired Android, he deployed all his energies in making it the most popular mobile operating system. After pushing Android to new heights, he switched to the robotics sector and made a respectable series of acquisitions.

The CEO of the company, Larry page understands the contributions of Andy and is obliged for his selfless services to the company. He stated that, “I want to wish Andy all the best with what’s next,” he further added, “With Android he created something truly remarkable— with a billion-plus happy users. Thank you.”
The contribution of Rubin are undeniable and he actually helped the company to come on par with AAPL during a time when Apple was the only company dominating the Smartphone domain.  He was so badly devoted in making this venture a success that he actually separated his Android team from Google to that extent that they had their separate lunchrooms within the same office.

Those who know Rubin personally understand his psychology. His nature is quite similar to that of an entrepreneur and thus expecting him to work under constraints was the worst decision by GOOG. On the other hand Andy Rubin himself cleared why he left Google by saying “didn’t really have any issues with independence” but chose to separate since he really wanted to do something on his own. He further cleared that “Larry enabled the robotic effort to run exactly the way I wanted it to, and we made great progress in our first year,”

Whatever the issue was, Andy Rubin’s departure from GOOG is a major loss for the company.

Google working on Cancer Cells

With the rapid spread of cancer amongst people, many companies are working on their take to combat this disease. In the same manner, GOOG has started to work on magnetic particles which would be patrolling through the human body in search of active cancer cells.
GOOG claims that their magnetic particles which will be one thousandth of an average red blood cell would basically go inside the body and attach themselves to proteins, cells and other particles found in the body. Moreover the company is also working on wearable devices which would keep a check of such cancer causing agents in the body providing constant monitoring.
The purpose of these devices would be to acknowledge the patient about their wellbeing before the disease becomes serious so that precaution can be taken. GOOG itself believes that this will be the future of the healthcare industry and are optimistic that any test conducted by doctors in future would be through these devices.

The issue with coming up with such a device is that the company does not really know what material would actually allow these particles to attach with the cells moreover they have not been Able to deduce how many such particles would be required. This process is in the streamline and would further require 5 more years to flourish completely.
The incentive on the companies end is to broaden their perspective and not just limit their growth to browsing and advertisement but now intervene in new markets. For this purpose they have established their Google X research labs which are devoted to work and revolutionize the paradigms of healthcare.
The company has hired people from various professions such as chemist, physicist, astrophysics, and engineers etc. to collaborate and deliver an effective product. The company still has not revealed the actual amount spent by them for this particular project.

Skeptics are still uncertain about the future of this product since only few products using nanotechnology have proved to be beneficial. Rests have resulted in vague outcomes.  The company has a divine purpose of choosing this mechanism because usually people spend massive amounts once diagnosed with diseases. These tests would allow them to keep a check and take precautions to avoid any such situation in the future.

One of the major issue with this would be that even if they succeed in making such devices and tests, their authenticity would still be an area of concern.

Tesla to include SUVs and Wagons in its Model III design

Tesla has already made an impact on the market with the introduction of its new models in the market every now and them. Particularly, Tesla Model S was the one which started it all for Tesla. It was the breakthrough model for TSLA Motors. However, in the new Tesla Model III, the company has planned to include the SUV and Wagon versions in it. The company said that this model will be designed with a broad audience in mind. Hence, this will help the company to offer a wider variety of models including SUV and station wagon as well

It is believed that many people, including Elon Musk, has benchmarked the BMW 3 series for Tesla Model III. However, it will difficult to keep up with the benchmarked model. The company will have to work a lot on the Tesla Model III in order to compete with the class leading Bimmer. Chris Porritt, the vice president of Tesla engineering says “the Model III will have to come in more than just sedan flavors; one of the easier and more obvious choices would be a two-door coupe model. Hence, the door is wide open to any of a number of ideas to broaden the appeal of the Model III. Tesla is doing something similar with the Model X SUV, which shares the same chassis as the Model S sedan, but a station wagon has only been imagined by concept artists so far.

Furthermore, he added that the company’s main focus at the moment is on the volume and the cost. Hence, the company believes that it will have to keep comparable prices with the competitions in order to survive and compete in the market with the likes of BMW, Audi, and other luxury automakers.
Hence, it is expected that including SUVs and Wagons in the Tesla Model III will give the company a wider variety to offer to is consumers and Tesla’s appeal will grow exponentially.
